GATEWAY ACADEMY is Hiring an Innovative English Teacher for Twice-Exceptional Students Near Phoenix, AZ

Gateway Academy is the only private day school in the State of Arizona specializing in Twice Exceptional students with High Functioning Autism. We offer a great Work-Life Balance. Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Middle School English Teacher who is passionate about working with twice exceptional students. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by 2e learners and possess creative teaching methods to engage and inspire them in the subject of English Language Arts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement differentiated curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of 2e students in English Language Arts.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe to express themselves and take academic risks.
  • Incorporate a variety of teaching techniques, such as project-based learning, multimedia resources, and experiential activities, to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Provide ongoing assessment and feedback to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations for 2e students.
  • Stay current with best practices and research in the field of twice exceptionality and integrate relevant findings into instructional practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in English Language Arts for middle school level.
  • Experience working with twice exceptional students or other diverse learners.
  • Strong knowledge of middle school English Language Arts curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
