WHAT TO EXPECT

Located in our Denver office, we are seeking an Associate Buyer to join our global team. This is an exciting opportunity for you to join a growing team and influence the way we operate.

You will be majorly responsible for maintaining correcting AP hold issues within our ERP system(s). This can include quantity discrepancies, receiving discrepancies, and pricing discrepancies for three-way match across multiple distribution centers, plants, and suppliers. You will also be responsible for the buying and planning of certain product lines with the Gates Denver Out-purchasing team. This role will also be contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, as well as completing certain ad hoc requests as required by Management.

Key responsibilities (to name a few):
  • Accounts Payable hold resolution.
  • Working closely with accounts payable, receiving, and supply chain to drive process creation around corrective actions to address gaps.
  • Run weekly hold resolution meeting with out-purchasing team and drive actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Schedule and coordinate supply requirements (manufactured or purchased) from supply base (manufacturing plants, 3rd party suppliers or affiliate plants).
  • Maintain planning, and other required information for assigned items in ERP system(s).
  • Resolves issues with schedule adherence, supplier on-time-delivery, and quality by engaging appropriate internal departments.
  • Controls the inventory of assigned products in accordance with management objectives.
  • Establishes priorities for assigned supply base to meet customer (internal or external) requirements.
  • Utilize multiple Gates' resources and systems to conduct data analysis.

ABOUT YOU

  • 1 year of Buyer/Planner experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of production, purchasing, AP management, and inventory planning
  • Prior experience in a high SKU count environment, preferred
  • Highly analytical with a strong excel knowledge and ability
  • Proven attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team player; provides proactive support of team members and shares best practices/knowledge
  • Self-motivated, capable of seeking quality solutions and continuously focusing on process improvements, while keeping the needs of the business in the forefront
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and proven ability to facilitate collaboration in cross regional and multi-cultural teams
  • Ability to Travel up to 10% of the time
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without sponsorship
