AT Systems is looking to add a new member to the team! Our company has been a B2B partner in the Custom Finishing industry for over 60 years. Our current opening for an experienced Shear Operator for our plant for the second shift (4:30 p.m.-1:00 a.m. Monday-Friday). The Shear Operator is responsible for setting up and calibrating shearing machines to ensure the accuracy and quality of the cut according to precise specifications. The ideal candidate should have experience with shear operation, be safety-conscious, and possess a strong attention to detail.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities we are looking for:

• Operate and maintain mechanical shearing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications to determine cutting requirements.
• Knowledge of different types of materials and their cutting requirements.
• Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure proper dimensions and quality of the cut material.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify and address any maintenance needs.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production efficiency and meet deadlines.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
• Maintain detailed production records and reports as required.

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
• Proven experience as a shear operator or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
• Ability to lift and handle materials as needed.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to undergo additional training as required.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced production environment and adapt to changing priorities.
