Gastroenterology Associates of Gainesville P.C. is seeking a talented customer service oriented medical assistant with a personable speaking voice to become a member of the medical assistant phone team. In this position an applicant can expect to answer a large volume of incoming calls on a daily basis and provide quality health care utilizing our multi-line telephone system.

Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm, Friday 8:00am-12:00pm

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Medical Assistant Certification or Registration-Preferred
• Bilingual Spanish-Preferred

Job Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:

• Answer inbound calls in a professional, respectful and friendly manner in a high call volume center
• Operate a multi-line phone system
• Operate overhead paging system
• Effectively communicate with patients’, physicians and other staff both within the office and at outside facilities providing accurate, timely and responsive information
• Self-monitor call times for adherence to efficiency goals
• Conduct other clerical task, including indexing of paperwork, preparing outgoing mail and other task as assigned by the Billing Office Manager
• Handle emergent calls and direct to appropriate department or physician
• Send urgent and non-urgent messages to providers and call patients and/or other facilities with replies
• Refill medications through EMR, call medications in to pharmacies
• Other office duties as requested by your supervisor.
• Maintains patient confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines

Preferred Qualifications:

• (1) year of experience in a customer service setting
• (6 ) months of experience in a physician office setting
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
• 50 wmp typing skills
