Essential Duties

The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.

• Provides social work services to children who are in the legal custody of DSS and residing in foster care.
• Arranges out of home placement, monitors placement, arranges court ordered visitation between parents and children.
• Assures that the child receives all necessary services (medical, dental, educational) just as a child’s parent would provide.
• Develops plan of care and works with natural parents to hopefully return child to natural parents.
• Gathers extensive documentation in order to legally proceed with termination of parental rights in order for the child to be cleared for adoption.
• Writes court reports, attends and testifies in court, attends legal meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

• Masters degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; OR a bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work from an accredited college or university with a Child Welfare Collaborative (CPS positions only); OR a bachelor’s degree in social work and one year of experience in the area of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy or treatment planning; OR a four year degree in a human service field with at least 25 semester hours of approved coursework and two years of experience in a related area; OR a four year degree and three years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A copy of transcripts must be included with the application.
• The applicant selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.73 - $32.05 per hour
