Job description

The duty of a Maintenance Technician is to provide assistance to the engineering operations, including maintenance and repairs needed to all buildings and equipment throughout the hotel property. Participate in preventive maintenance of all guest rooms and public areas in order to provide high standard of guest expectations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Required:

o High School Diploma or equivalent.

o Weekend and Holiday availability.

o Valid Driver’s License with safe record

Preferred:

o Two years’ experience in the related field

o Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and air conditioning.

o Ability to work without direct supervision

o Good Communication skills

o Detail orientated

o Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form

o Ability to develop good relationships with coworkers and guest.

Job Duties:

· Learn and demonstrate the ability to maintain property assets

· Ability to read work orders and follow instructions

· Assist and respond to guest requests in a positive manner while providing a high level of service

· Assist the guest by having knowledge of the hotel property, guest room repairs and common area maintenance

· Assess and evaluate property assets through preventative maintenance

· Work with appropriate managers with a respectful manner to recommend maintenance service solutions

· Work with the Director, Asst Director and Maintenance Manager to learn understand and execute all Maintenance SOPs, and emergency procedures

· Complete all assigned duties inside or outside the normal scope of responsibilities with the department

· Assist the carpenters in maintaining and repairing all aspects of the property, to include painting

· Maintain true knowledge of the company facilities and related services utilizing the Hours of Operations guide

· Perform all duties and responsibilities to the standards set by the company while assisting other departments as needed.

Working Conditions and Assignments:

This position takes place both indoor and outdoor. The position requires bending, twisting, kneeling pushing, pulling, and a moderate degree of physical exertion. This position will need to be able to safely drive a golf cart and may have frequent exposure to outside weather conditions throughout the day. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
