Job Description:
Home Health start-up in Virginia looking for an experienced Director of Nursing (part-time) to organize and oversee all nursing operations of the facility. You will create a collaborative and efficient workplace with attention to quality standards and policies.
Responsibilities:
- Direct, oversee, and evaluate nursing personnel. (registered nurses, CNA)
- Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing and CNA team.
- Understand current Home Health Condition of Participation and develop and implement clinical changes in the agency delivery of care model.
- Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high-quality standards.
- Control budgets and monitor expenditures.
- Able to perform OASIS assessments and regular home visits as needed.
- Provide direction to subordinates, in an effort to ensure quality, compliance with the Plan of Care, and assessment and reassessment of patients’ needs and continuity of services by appropriate healthcare personnel.
- Direct and evaluate the efficiency and professional practice of nursing, intake, and HHA staff.
- Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed.
- Manage record-keeping procedures.
- Monitor systems and identify problem areas to the Administrator both verbally and through written reports.
- Meets mandatory continuing education requirements of the agency/licensing board.
- Promote and educate regarding the concepts of infection control and universal precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease and ensure adequate orientation and staff development needs are met through collaboration with the Education Department.
- Work with and ensure support of the Sales and Marketing Staff to progress the company in the community, build census, and grow the company in line with our Mission Statement.
- In-depth knowledge of home health procedures and KPI/KQIs of patient care in Virginia.
- Great knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare.
- 2 years of nursing supervisory experience in the home health industry.
- Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration.
- Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel.
- Great communication and people skills.
- Outstanding organizational and stress management skills.
- Aptitude in problem-solving and being innovative.
