IT Support Tech I

Responsibility: As (IT Support Tech-I) You are responsible for I.T. related phone and in-person 
support. Communicate via ticketing system - all support issues, resolutions, all pertinent info 
related to any Vendor support system (ticket# and names).

Principle & Essential Duties: The principle & essential duties of the IT Support Technician consist 
of, but are not limited to the following.
1. Deploy New IT Equipment: Computers (desktop/laptops), computer accessories, docking 
stations, monitors, printers, phones (cell/desktop), etc. as assigned.
2. Computer Cleaning and Maintenance for all Garton Tractor locations:
a. Keep Windows software, hardware, and drivers up to date in all desktops, laptops, and PCs.
b. Keep printer drivers current.
c. Properly clean I.T. related equipment and areas from dust and debris.
3. Software Support: Maintenance to include user training Software.
4. Visit Garton Branch Locations: For on-site needs that are unable to be handled through a virtual 
connection.
5. Maintain Inventory Documentation and Labeling of all Equipment: Employee assigned, equipment 
brand, models, serial numbers, and other appropriate information.
6. Mobile Devices: Upgrades, repairs, installations, accessories, support to end users with set up, 
training, and other technical needs.

7. Help Desk: Log, track, (currently Trello) and communicate incoming support requests and status 
with IT Coordinator for, Desktop applications, Printing functions, Windows OS (Win7, 8 & 10), Chrome Devices, 
as well as MS Office, Keystone and other company approved software.
a. Prioritize help desk needs with IT Coordinator according to FIFO as well as level of importance.
b. Maintain and keep tracking log system current.
8. Warranties: All IT related equipment warranty set up, documentation, coordination, shipping, 
and follow-up.
9. Support with Telco: Voice and data ticket creation and follow-up.
10. Support the Dealer Admin: Help create login ID’s and passwords for users –
communicate with IT Coordinator for approvals.
11. Support Electronic Parts Catalog: Access, repair and maintenance.
12. Update Vehicle GPS Devices: Support requests as needed.
13. Awareness: When appropriate to multi-task and when to focus on one project. (i.e. while a PC 
or Smartphone is downloading and installing updates know to work on other items on your list or 
take a support call).
14. Organization and Cleanup: Keep spare parts and equipment storage area in warehouse cleaned and 
organized, send old un-needed equipment to recycler, paperwork filing. Keep office and desk area 
organized and clean.
15. Marketing and Web Data Entry: Update used equipment inventory as directed by Marketing Director.
16. Communication: Coordinate all IT requests for IT support, and prioritizing with IT Coordinator.
17. Ability to Work Flex Hours: Outside normal 8am-5pm work day Monday- Friday, Saturdays as 
needed.

Qualifications

Job Function & Purpose: Support Garton Tractor employees with all computer and phone based needs to maintain overall efficiency and productivity.

• Qualifications: IT formal training & experience, CompTia A certification or college degree with 
IT focus. Knowledge of computers, networks, Microsoft programs including Office & PC Operating 
systems. Ability to type 35-40 wpm. Current best practices for I.T., computer, and phones. (PC 
maintenance to include avoiding malware and viruses, etc.) Capable of multi-tasking as necessary. 
Ability to learn how our communication network runs both physically and electronically.

• Working Conditions: Sitting at a desk for phone support (help desk duties), moving, carrying up 
to 40 lbs., crawling in attics & climbing ladders to install Network cables, equipment, etc.
