Garten has an excellent opportunity to join our compassionate and hardworking team as a E-Recycling Production Worker. General Position Summary:

Sorts out the batteries for e-recycling. Could operate equipment in support of e-recycle operation.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Completes production, required paperwork completed on time, set-up/clean-up, and responding to and Supervisor as needed.
  • Completes training in proper work methods specific to e-recycle.
  • Ensures job quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Operates all equipment in assigned e-recycling sorter area as needed.

Secondary Functions:

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Scope:

Performs duties with moderate supervision from the division manager; operates from specific and definite directions and instructions. Decisions are of a routine nature made within prescribed operating guidelines, policies, and procedures, with the division manager approving any changes or decisions that could impact the profitability of the division or the satisfaction of the customers (internal and external).

Mistakes/Errors may result in work being done too slow and inefficiently or needing to be redone which may result in increased operating expenses and customer dissatisfactionwhich could directly impact the company in both reputation and profitability.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position is not supervisory in nature.

Interpersonal Contacts:

Has mostly internal contacts with own division staff and own supervisor. External Customers contact rarely occurs. Most of the interactions, internal and external, involve information exchange.

Both internal and external contacts are usually made at the employee's own initiative with 20% of the contacts being over the phone and 80% face to face. 5% of all contacts are with external customers while 95% are with internal customers.

Specific Job Skills Required:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Mental and physical ability to operate department equipment and/or machines.
  • Ability to operate general office business machines.
  • Ability to actively participate in team development and team-oriented processes.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, twist, grasp, handle, and make some repetitive movements with the hands, wrists, and arms throughout a normal work shift.
  • Physical ability to push/pull up to 1,000 pounds with a pallet jack, and to lift/carry up to 40 pounds regularly throughout a normal work shift.

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience in a production environment.
  • A high school education or equivalent.

Job Conditions:

This position requires the incumbent to work in an environment where there is exposure to fumes, noise, building temperature fluctuations, poor ventilation and lighting, dust and chemicals. Other working conditions include:

Shift work; possibleovertime during peak periods; frequent interruptions; disagreeable contacts (i.e. aggressive/agitated individuals); working alone; may be required to operate a forklift.
