Job Summary

Responsible for working with customers, developing quotes, and estimating job costs. The estimator will be responsible for the full-cycle of estimating from analyzing job specifications, assessing customer requirements, and gathering required information to prepare final sale quotations for customers. The estimator will need to evaluate materials, ink, labor and equipment needed for each job and ensure accuracy and profitability. They will also collaborate with sales, production, and technical teams to provide timely quotes while also staying updated on industry trends and pricing.

Essential Job Functions

  • Analyze job specifications and data for printing and converting quotes.
  • Develop and prepare quotes, and forward for review and approval.
  • Perform cost analysis.
  • Maintain and update estimating database, including updating standard and variable costs.
  • Resolve questions, concerns, and issues regarding quotes with customers and/or customer service representatives, sales or operations teams.


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to communicate and convey information to customers and co-workers.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced math and analytical skills including but not limited to various conversion methods.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft® Excel.
  • Must be an exceptional listener and be able to understand customer needs.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the flexographic printing industry is preferred.


Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A - Subject to change based on business needs.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a combination of high school diploma/GED and related work experience.
  • At least 2 years of estimating or customer service experience preferred.


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and utilizing computer systems. Occasional reaching, pushing, pulling, standing. Ability to use office equipment including computers, photocopiers, fax machines, telephones, etc.
  • Frequently required to use hands or fingers, and to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds at times.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment if required.

Typical environment of manufacturing and production facilities. Exposure includes but is not limited to continuous noise, scent of materials, bright workstations, machinery with moving parts.
