**Job Title: Road Bike Group Ride Leader and Cycling Instructor**

**Overview:**

We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as a Road Bike Group Ride Leader and Cycling Instructor. This role involves leading group rides, educating new cyclists on safe biking practices, fostering a positive group riding environment, and assisting participants in improving their cycling skills and fitness levels. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of road cycling principles, and a dedication to promoting a culture of safety and enjoyment within the cycling community.

**Responsibilities:**

1. **Lead Group Rides:**

- Plan and organize regular group rides for cyclists of varying skill levels and abilities.

- Set appropriate routes, considering factors such as distance, terrain, and group dynamics.

- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants throughout the ride.

- Provide guidance and encouragement to riders, maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

2. **Cycling Instruction:**

- Conduct beginner-level cycling clinics to teach basic bike handling skills, traffic safety rules, and group riding etiquette.

- Offer personalized coaching to help cyclists improve their technique, confidence, and fitness level.

- Demonstrate proper bike setup, gear selection, and riding techniques to participants.

3. **Safety and Risk Management:**

- Enforce adherence to traffic laws, signaling protocols, and other safety measures during group rides.

- Identify and address potential hazards along route paths, including road conditions, traffic patterns, and weather conditions.

- Educate participants on the importance of wearing appropriate safety gear, such as helmets and reflective clothing.

4. **Community Engagement:**

- Foster a supportive and inclusive cycling community by building relationships with riders and promoting camaraderie.

- Collaborate with local cycling organizations, clubs, and advocacy groups to promote cycling events and initiatives.

- Serve as a positive ambassador for the organization, promoting the benefits of cycling and healthy living.

5. **Administrative Tasks:**

- Maintain accurate records of ride schedules, participant waivers, and emergency contact information.

- Assist in marketing efforts to attract new riders and promote upcoming group rides and events.

- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving ride experiences and program offerings.

**Qualifications:**

- Proven experience as a road cyclist with a strong understanding of road biking principles and techniques.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate participants of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.

- Certification in cycling instruction or coaching (e.g., League of American Bicyclists, USA Cycling) preferred.

- Knowledge of basic bike maintenance and repair is a plus.

- First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain it.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, to accommodate group ride schedules.

- Passion for promoting cycling as a healthy and sustainable mode of transportation and recreation.
