GAP Solutions, Inc. is Hiring a System Engineer (Microsoft Cyber Resiliency) Near Bethesda, MD

Position Objective: Provide services as a System Engineer (Microsoft Cyber Resiliency) in support of the overall functions of the Center for Information Technology (CIT) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The NIH has been working with Microsoft create a robust cyber resilient environment that enables the organization to defend against and effectively respond to cybersecurity threats. The two candidates required will work with the NIH IT Support Services team to: Develop and test standard config and deployment mechanism for MDE on Windows, Mac, Server and Linux; Enroll 80% of Windows workstations into Intune; Support transition of MDM source authority to Intune (if required); Assess possibility of adopting Intune as an approved Endpoint Management tool; Support plan to development and adopt of MDE and MDAV for all NIH ICs; Assist in creating Windows and macOS enrollment guides for NIH IC adoption.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management guidance and assistance to specific projects and activities. 3
  • Identify unmet needs, introduce new technologies, and gather feedback from the user community to increase the reliability of the tracking and data collection. 5
  • Provide integrated domain expertise across complex computational environments. 4
  • Determine needs and provide IT support for computerized systems supporting activities.
  • Perform troubleshooting, interpretation of results and analysis.
  • Prepare reports and offer solutions supporting ongoing needs assessment and strategic planning related to computer systems management and engineering. 2
  • Provide documentation as required and participate in code reviews, planning sessions, and routine status meetings. 1
  • Consult and collaborate with users to explain new tools and enable them to be adapted to meet specific research needs.
  • Maintain system software, hardware configuration, and security, as well as upgrade of the software as necessary to maintain security.
  • Deploy security measures to maintain integrity of data.
  • Perform client-side development and integrate client-side components with server-side applications. Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization.
  • Research new technologies, standards and systems to improve existing products and websites.
  • Maintain back up and archiving systems to avoid loss of research data.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Systems.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
  • Skilled in Azure, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft MDE/MDAV, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experienced in Azure Cloud Engineering, Enterprise Endpoint Management, and Microsoft Intune Development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
