Position Objective: Provide services as a Scientific Program Manager in support of the overall functions of the Vaccine Research Center (VRC), Office of Scientific Director (OSD) within the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the management of the logistics process for the shipments, deliveries, and the returns of products for the 9 West Watkins Facility.
• Assist with the management of building equipment and instrument service contracts 9 West Watkins Facility.
• Assist in the evaluation, comparison, and submission of requests to the Procurement Team for goods and services to determine which best meets the needs of the lab staff.
• Assist with conducting market research on equipment and/or services needed for VRC projects and lab support.
• Prepare equipment and service order documents for submission to Procurement Team.
• Assist with tracking 9WW Building/Facility expenses to support the budget allocation.
• Schedule courier requests for all groups.
• Initiate service calls for site visits, along with work orders for equipment and instruments under building service contracts while coordinating with lab managers’ schedules.
• Meet with key personnel in the laboratory on a regular basis to discuss facility-related issues and review any changing laboratory requirements.
• Serve as Deputy Occupant Emergency Coordinator (OEC) in the event of a building emergency or evacuation. Investigate on-site incidents and assist with the coordination of emergency evacuations.
• Enter and monitor facility request service tickets in the VRC Facility Management System (FMS).
• Serve as a backup emergency responder for the REES-monitored equipment.
• Assist in the coordination of new laboratory space for VRC lab staff.
• Monitor and order shared building supplies.
• Coordinate equipment going to surplus/warehouse.
• Sort and distribute incoming mail.
• Facilities liaison between 9 West Watkins Facility and Building 40 facility on NIH main campus.
• Serve as backup support to the loading dock attendant at the 9 West Watkins Facility.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS in Biology, Life Sciences, or other related discipline.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a related filed.
• Expertise with MS Office Suite.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with non-technical and technical staff.
• Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
