Position Objective: Provide services as a Phlebotomist in support of the overall functions of the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical and research blood sample collection
• Centrifuge blood samples
• Store blood samples with refrigeration
• Package and prepare blood samples for courier service pick-up and delivery to the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the Clinical Center
• Perform medical assistant duties as directed

Basic Qualifications:

• 0 years’ experience with a BA/BS degree. Relevant experience may be substituted for education: 4 years’ experience supporting program analysis activities with no degree
• Relevant experience may be substituted for education: 4 years’ experience supporting program analysis activities, or no experience with a BA/BS degree.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with non-technical and technical staff
• Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
