GAP Solutions, Inc. is Hiring a Communications Specialist Near Bethesda, MD

Position Objective: Provide services as a Communications Specialist in support of the overall functions of the Office of the Director (OD) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Division of Communications for the All of Us Research Program is searching for a talented and motivated communications specialist to support the program’s efforts to enroll and retain children in health research. The preferred candidate will have experience creating communications campaigns for pediatric research participants and their parents. They will work closely with program staff and partners, prioritizing internal progress updates and information sharing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute community engagement and study recruitment plans and strategies, to include marketing, community outreach, health education, etc. for all clinical research studies.
  • Create comprehensive outreach campaigns to support pediatric enrollment, retention, and other program initiatives. 1
  • Develop communications plans for discrete campaign activities and milestones.
  • Work with design and technology partners to build digital and non-digital participant notifications, including email, SMS, phone, and mail outreach.
  • Work with partners to develop internal and external rollout plans. 2
  • Attend listening sessions, meetings, and other forums to learn more about partner needs.
  • Organize and liaison with community members to develop programs that will engage and educate communities to increase awareness of research.
  • Build relationships with partners who will support pediatric enrollment to understand the needs of a complex consortium. 3
  • Review community-based communications plans and programs as they evolve and provide recommendations for change and improvement.
  • Work with staff to coordinate content management of recruitment materials, advertisements and social marketing messages. 4
  • Monitor and evaluate of program metrics and management of program timelines. Develop appropriate evaluation criteria for communications products. 5
  • Support project management activities, including helping identify key objectives and tasks needed to complete projects, establishing timelines, and monitoring and reporting on progress. Provides input to help develop or improve work processes and procedures.
  • Represent the Division of Communications on internal working groups, committees, and integrated project teams. - Weekly
  • Attend Division of Communications meetings, updating the Division on progress. - Weekly
  • Perform other duties as assigned. - Monthly
  • Develop communications plans for discrete campaign activities and milestones. - Quarterly
  • Develop comprehensive outreach campaigns to support pediatric enrollment, retention, and other program initiatives. - Yearly

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Community and Public Health.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, Google Workspace, Confluence, and Asana.
  • Experienced in Communication theory and practices and health education.
  • Knowledge of 508 compliance and accessibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
