Project Architect

As Gannett Fleming continues to grow and expand, we are looking for a talented Project Architect to thrive within our New York City architectural studio. We rely on our energetic staff to share with us their unique perspectives and elevate the quality of our work. In this role, you will need to be a detail oriented architect with a positive attitude to lead architectural teams including coordination with other disciplines and fully commit to our multi-disciplined approach to design. You will be working on projects for national and statewide public-facing governmental agencies seeking our best ideas to improve the public realm. You should expect to be challenged to produce high quality work in a fast-paced and intellectually engaging environment.

As Project Architect, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Prepare concept designs for active projects and proposals.
• Produce conceptual renderings for project and presentation purposes.
• Prepare architectural working drawings and related project documents.
• Prepare project specifications. 
• Coordinate construction administration activities such as the review of shop drawings, response to requests for information, and running construction meetings.
• Work collaboratively and positively in a team environment.
• Be willing to expand your skills and grow professionally.

Minimum Qualifications 

• Bachelor of Arts/Science in Architecture is required. B.Arch or Master of Architecture degree is preferred.
• 7-10 years minimum experience in an architectural office setting is required.
• License preferred
• High proficiency in REVIT Building Information Modeling Architecture with experience in both design and construction documentation is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint software is required.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu is required.
• Strong graphic skills and experience with 3D Modeling software such as Sketch-Up Pro or similar is desired.
• Experience with 3D Rendering software such as Lumion 3D, Enscape or similar is desired.
• Knowledge of the following building types is desired: transit, transportation, water/wastewater or other government (federal, state, local) projects.
• Candidate must have a thorough knowledge of current International Building Codes, NFPA, ADA, LEED, and knowledge of related standards such as ANSI, ASTM, ASHRAE etc.
• Candidate must be dynamic, creative and detail oriented.
• Candidate must be able to work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists.
