What You Will Do

Gannett Fleming is hiring an entry level Highway Designer/Engineer to join our Marlton, NJ team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with experienced project managers and engineers responsible for providing roadway design and construction-phase services for a wide variety of projects, including roadway and intersection improvements, drainage and grading improvements, toll facilities, and highways and interchanges. 

Responsibilities:

• Engineering analysis and design/checking design calculations
• Perform engineering design tasks for roadway projects from preliminary to final design, including horizontal and vertical alignment, roadway cross sections, traffic control, etc., under direction and supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Technical report writing
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages
• Field inspections of existing or under construction project sites
• Run models, CAD, and design software
• Function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a recent or upcoming graduate of a 4-year Civil Engineering degree program
• EIT preferred
• A focus or coursework related to roadway, transportation, or drainage preferred
• Prior engineering related internships or similar experience is preferred; will consider up to 4 years of experience
• Hands on experience with engineering software such as Microstation/InRoads/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil3D is desirable
• Experience working with the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) or New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) is desirable
• Strong written and oral communications skills required
