Job Title: Outreach Coordinator Work Location: Brockton, MA *Bilingual Candidates Encouraged to Apply *EOE M/F/D/V *Union/Non-Union Job Summary: The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for assisting community outreach and advocacy at an active recovery support center that develops and maintains peer-to-peer support services and activities provided for and by people in recovery from substance use in person and virtually. The recovery support center is encompassed in peer governance and uses the peer participatory process to create a safe, inclusive environment to promote ongoing growth and long term recovery. Duties and Responsibilities:
Identifying and networking with recovery oriented community organizations
Manages peer outreach in person and virtually
Responsible for developing educational and informational content on Recovery Support Center benefits
Responsible for developing orientation and training for Peers that use social media and or perform out reach
Oversee all the recreational activities at Stairway to Recovery and other recovery oriented social activities
Provide direction and support to volunteer members that are directly supervised by the Volunteer Coordinator
Work with Stairway to Recovery staff to connect recovery community members with volunteer programs.
Conduct outreach to individuals within the recovery community, via recovery programs; jails, prisons, support networks and by attending networking events
Participate in workshops/training related to wellness and recovery engagement
Participate in support groups when needed
Participate in Data collection for reporting and evaluation purposes
Participate in monthly supervision with Program Director
Be able to work flexible ours including weekends, nights and holidays.
Additional duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge in the field of substance abuse, Preferred to be in recovery for a period of no less than 2 years.
Be familiar with the local recovery community, Brockton area.
Bilingual in Spanish, Cape Verdean Creole, or Portuguese preferred.
Valid Drivers license and dependable transportation Required.
