GAMA-1 Technologies, LLC is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced remote Server Administrator focused on ArcGIS systems to work remotely in support of the NWS Office of Water Prediction’s initiatives. This role is vital in deploying, maintaining, and optimizing ArcGIS servers and services, ensuring high availability and performance in support of our critical geospatial operations. The Server Administrator will collaborate with a team dedicated to the excellence of geospatial data management and server infrastructure, playing a key role in the operational success of our GIS applications. Occasional travel required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient in the administration and performance tuning of ArcGIS Server, including service publishing, security, and data management.
• Experience with cloud technologies and services (AWS, Azure) specifically related to the deployment and management of GIS servers.
• Strong understanding of RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and their integration with ArcGIS.
• Familiarity with GIS concepts and applications, with a focus on ESRI or ArcGIS products.
• Knowledge of server-side scripting and automation for GIS workflows (Python, PowerShell).
• Proficient in managing Windows and Linux server environments tailored for GIS applications.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve server and network issues affecting GIS services.
• Experience with implementing and managing web services (RESTful APIs, SOAP) and web servers (IIS, Apache).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple facets of the project.
• Experience in Agile development methodologies and practices.
• Proficient in the use of version control systems (e.g., GitHub, SVN) in a collaborative environment.

Education and Experience:

• BS in Computer Science, GIS, Environmental Science, or another related technical discipline.
• 8 years of experience in server administration, with a strong focus on GIS server technologies and infrastructure maintenance.

Preferred Certifications:

• Esri Enterprise Administration Associate.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
