Galveston Park Board is looking to hire a part-time Guest Services Ambassador to provide excellent customer service to residents and visitors. Do you find satisfaction in helping people? A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GUEST SERVICES AMBASSADOR

As a part-time guest service professional, you play a crucial role in providing assistance to the residents and visitors of our island. You handle inquiries involving Pay by Phone enrollment and services and answer questions related to the island such as restaurant, hotel, and shopping suggestions. By maintaining telephone etiquette and professionalism, you are able to handle a high volume of repetitive phone calls that may involve complaints from dissatisfied customers. You are able to remain friendly and helpful both with the public and other employees no matter the situation.

You are able to work effectively in an office setting. The physical demands of the job include sitting for extended periods of time with some walking and standing. You find great satisfaction in helping others, and this is what makes you perfect for this guest service role in hospitality!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A GUEST SERVICES AMBASSADOR

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) certification or ability to become certified (CTA training provided by the Galveston Island Park Board of Trustees upon hire)
  • Fluency in English both verbally and in writing, Spanish fluency a plus
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment, telephone and headset and basic computer software programs, keyboard, and mouse
  • Strong guest service skills

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A GUEST SERVICES AMBASSADOR

This guest service position works a part-time schedule of up to 29 hours per week. Operations are seven days a week and generally fall between the hours of 10 AM - 6 PM. Schedule for this opening is Monday AM, Wednesday AM, Thursday AM, Saturday all day, and Sunday PM.
