Job Location
Onsite/Hybrid, San Diego - This position allows a hybrid work structure, under which employees can work remotely for up to 2 days per week, between Tuesday and Thursday, after completing a probationary period and based on demands of specific tasks. Working from the office is encouraged for some tasks that require a high degree of collaboration. Minimal domestic travel required, possibly 10% of time.

Job Overview:
The DevSecOps Engineer will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between development, operations, and security within our aerospace projects. This role is designed for innovative problem-solvers who are passionate about automating security into the development process and ensuring secure, efficient, and scalable systems in a dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines that incorporate security testing and compliance checks• Collaborate with software engineering team to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle• Develop and maintain secure containerization practices• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes using tools like Ansible and Terraform• Monitor and manage cloud and on-premises environments to ensure they adhere to security and compliance standards• Lead efforts in vulnerability assessment, threat modeling, and security risk analysis• Mentor team members on best practices in DevSecOps methodologies• Provide support at customer sites and participate in test and evaluation activities

Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related STEM field.• 5 years of experience in DevOps or DevSecOps roles with a strong background in software development.• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control systems (e.g., Git).• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and tools (e.g., OWASP, STIGs).• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes).• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance.Preferred Qualifications:• Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEH) or DevOps (e.g., Kubernetes Administrator, AWS DevOps Engineering)• Experience with cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security tools.• Knowledge of network security and architecture• Advanced STEM degree or active DoD clearance

Pay Scale:At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $140K-$155K and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
