Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a meticulous and dedicated Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Galloway Senior Living. The Maintenance Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living environment for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, knowledge of maintenance best practices, and a genuine commitment to supporting senior well-being through quality facility maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, repairing fixtures, painting, and minor plumbing repairs to uphold facility standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of resident rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize and complete maintenance requests efficiently.

Safety and Compliance

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks to ensure the safety of residents, staff, and visitors.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards related to facility maintenance and safety.

Collaboration with Team

• Coordinate with housekeeping and caregiving staff to address maintenance issues discovered during routine tasks or reported by residents.
• Communicate effectively with the maintenance supervisor and other team members to ensure seamless operations.

Equipment and Inventory Management

• Assist in maintaining an organized inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, notifying when replenishment is needed.
• Monitor the condition of maintenance equipment and report any issues for repair or replacement.

Resident Support

• Interact with residents in a courteous and helpful manner while addressing maintenance-related concerns or requests.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff alike.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in maintenance or a related field, preferably in a senior living, hospitality, or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance techniques, including familiarity with tools and equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
