Description
Join our team! Galloway Ridge is an upscale continuing care retirement community located between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro in Chatham County, NC. We are currently seeking a Full-time Director of Accounting. The person is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations to include: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Payroll. The position is also responsible for the preparation and posting of journal entries, reconciliation of account balances, the production of timely and accurate financial statements, and the preparation of tax reports and other required filings. The Director serves as the primary point of contact for external auditors. The Director assists the Senior Director of Finance in preparation of the annual budget. The Director meets regularly with other Senior Directors and Directors to review actual to budget variances. The Director is responsible for the proper accounting of fixed assets and inventories
Requirements
- Knowledge of accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
- 5 to 8 years’ experience to include 2 or more years’ supervisory experience.
- Ability to generate, read, and analyze financial statements.
- Leadership, Customer Service, and Critical Thinking skills.
- Technologically savvy to include in depth experience with Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with Sage Intacct, Point Click Care, and Paylocity software preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Business acumen and ability to explain complex accounting transactions to non-financial personnel.
- Understanding of Medicare and Insurance billing preferred.
