Summary :

To provide and work with teacher to ensure the safety and well-being of the students working one-on-one while helping those master skills and improve academic performance in K-12 school settings.

Familiarity and be able to react quickly and appropriately in crisis situations, vigilant in monitoring students and be agile, work with students with various instructional activities, classroom and student management.

High School diploma or GED required

Two years of post-secondary education in education, deaf education, or a related field.

Must have at least one year of experience working with children in K-12 educational setting.

Knowledge and understanding of K-12 students and behaviors of students at different age groups

Fluency in American Sign Language

Employment Information :

The contractual period is divided into two portions : August 15, 2024 December 20, 2024, and January 6, 2025 June 13, 2025, and is dependent upon performance and program needs.

Required Orientation Training : To be determined

All employees hired must undergo and pay for a background investigation if selected for the job and must be cleared before starting first day on the job.

Current fee for the investigation is $35.50 and fee can be higher if you are from out-of-state.

Background Check and Gallaudet Student Conduct Office Records must be in a good standing

Compensation : $18.00 per hour

Work Days : All student days, except for holiday breaks, Spring Break, and professional days. If there is a professional day requiring temporary employees to attend, employees will be notified.

Work Hours : 7 : 45am 3 : 45pm with paid lunch
