Job Summary:

GalaxyCon is a festival of fandom that celebrates comic books, pop culture, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, cosplay, and more. GalaxyCon is more than a comic-con, it’s a galaxy of fun!

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. As a Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Key Responsibilities:

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Financial Transactions: Process invoices, receipts, and payments. Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
• Payroll: Prepare and process payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in creating and monitoring budgets. Provide financial reports and analysis to management.
• Financial Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and company policies.
• Data Entry: Enter financial data into accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
• Communication: Collaborate with other senior managers and departments, such as programming, marketing, merch, etc., to support the company’s strategic initiatives and growth plans.
• Other job duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably in the entertainment, media, or events industry.
• Proven track record of leading and managing financial teams and projects.
• Excellent knowledge of financial accounting, reporting, and analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities
• A passion for comic books, pop culture, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, cosplay, and more
• A willingness and ability to travel to GalaxyCon events, which may require working on weekends and holidays
