Product Representative

Galata Chemicals is a specialty chemical company manufacturing and marketing additives, primarily used in PVC applications around the world. The business has been established for over 40 years with manufacturing and sales globally and became an independent Private Equity owned company in May of 2010. The Taft, LA, site is the hub for manufacturing, logistics, customer care, and technology in the Americas, and will also play a key role in the growth strategy of the company.

Job Summary:

The Product Representative will spearhead continuous improvement initiatives and be accountable for identifying growth opportunities, setting sales priorities, and providing pricing strategies. This role requires collaboration with procurement and operations to streamline production planning and maximize profitability. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing various projects and have a strong grasp of pricing strategies.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage projects to drive business growth and optimize existing systems
• Maintain data on market competitiveness for product offerings
• Develop and standardize pricing formula calculations, communicating them effectively with the sales team
• Collaborate with the Procurement Team to forecast price increases
• Coordinate with the Scheduling Team to fulfill customer expectations
• Work with the Sales Team to identify and nurture long-term relationships with customers
• Forecast customer demand to support S&OP
• Travel up to 25% of the time as required

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
• 0-2 years of business experience (minimum 2 years direct experience in the chemical industry required)
• Familiarity with SAP preferred
• Understanding of logistics and materials planning

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,000.00 - $89,941.00 per year
