Job Location: NCR, Arlington, VA 22201
Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Senior level Network Engineer position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
The Network Engineer works in NCR, Arlington, VA within a cohesive team environment and is responsible for maintaining industry and government IT compliance standards via scheduled deployments, patching managing, and maintaining, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network routers, switches, and encryption devices in Windows Active Directory environment.
This position focuses on ensuring production systems are secure, tuned for optimum performance, delivering required information to end-users, and interacting properly with Wide Area networks (WANs). Maximize network environment monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with System Integration network architects.
The Network Administrator will interface with other stakeholders and attend meetings, generate reports, and provide recommendations for enhancements and improvements.
Skills / Experience Required

  • 10 years of DoD Network Engineering Experience
  • 7 years of experience delivering similar tasks of a similar size to a DoD client
  • Function as the SME responsible for the development, implementation, and configuration, of OMC Network Infrastructure across multiple locations operating a broad range of network technologies
  • Lead O&M support efforts of all OMC NIPRNET, SIPRNET, JWICS Network Infrastructure located in NSGB, and Special Access System Network Infrastructure located in both the NCR and NSGB.
  • Installs, monitors, manages, and supports switches, routers, and data circuits for OMC Voice, Data, and Video Systems.
  • Ensures Network Infrastructure is securely configured in accordance with DoD Cyber Security Policy
  • Maintains a broad understanding and deep knowledge across all applicable network technologies, advises the OMC Information Technology Division in the utilization and integration of innovative technologies in support of OMC Network requirements.
  • Leads OMC engineering and installation (E&I) support for inside/outside plant LAN wiring & fiber optic cable terminations.
  • Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots OMC Network Encryption device operation
  • Ensures proper IP Address allocation to optimize network performance and maintain network security
  • Leads efforts to troubleshoot network issues and outages, coordinates with internal and external entities to resolve complex networking issues

Education / Certifications

  • High School graduate
  • Possess one of the following DoD 8570.01M baseline certifications:
  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) Continuing Education
  • (CE) or International Information Systems Security
  • Certifications Consortium (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) AND Required Computing Environment Certification listed below:
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise

Security Clearance
Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
