We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Claims Team Leader Level I. In this role, you will provide ongoing training, coaching, counseling, and performance management for staff primarily handling a mixture of low to intermediate complexity coverage and liability automobile accident investigations. What does a CLAIMS TEAM LEADER- LEVEL 1 do?

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Coach, train, and support team members to enhance their product management skills.
  • Lead a team of 4-6 Level 1 Claims Representatives, providing onboarding and ongoing guidance.
  • Support company initiatives and special projects.
  • Identify and execute recruitment activities to ensure a strong talent pool.
  • Influence others at all levels in the organization and drive consensus on key decisions.
  • Take accountability for all work products executed by the team procedures. 

Maintains Quality Service:

  • Ensure prompt and accurate handling of new and existing claims.
  • Provide regular reporting to adjusters and management.
  • Review and audit claims using a holistic approach.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure files are consistent and properly documented in adherence to Company and State policies.
  • Resolve customer complaints, problems, and coverage questions not handled by team members. 

Special Projects:

  • Assist or direct special projects and requests.
  • Proactively communicate with key personnel in other departments.
  • Supervise, evaluate performance, and recommend salary changes for personnel.
  • Actively participate in interviews and selection of new personnel and assist with other staffing decisions.
  • Manage incoming work volume for employees. 

What is required?

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years Previous experience as a Claim Representative required.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred. 
  • Insurance background required.
  • Non-standard auto insurance experience is preferred.

License/Certification:

  • Valid Adjuster License in the State of Texas or Florida
  • Ability to obtain State required Adjuster license in any state you are assigned.
  • Maintain CE credits as required for each State Adjuster license.

Other skills and abilities:

  • Possesses superior verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to impart knowledge of customer service best practices to new adjusters. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively prioritize and delegate tasks, while simultaneously fostering a positive and productive team environment. 
  • Ability to diffuse tense situations with customers and train others on how to de-escalate and resolve customer complaints. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize computer systems and other technologies to complete tasks and achieve objectives. 
  • Ability to gather and analyze information or data in order to evaluate results in order to recommend solutions to current problems.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
