Job Description:
Plans, organizes, and directs all therapeutic and treatment activities in assigned facility. Responsible for the quality of care delivered in the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). Directs subordinate managers and staff.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

  • Coordinate’s response to disaster and emergencies
  • Develops and manages the budget and makes cost effective decisions
  • Develops policies, sets standards, and plans objectives for the CSU in accordance with established policies
  • Develops staffing patterns and creates staff schedules to assure an adequate level of staffing for safe and effective provision of care
  • Initiates and participates in the development of community wide policy to improve the health status of the guests
  • Interprets policies and communicates changes in regulations and procedures
  • Makes long-range plans and regularly reviews activities, problems and functions of services being delivered
  • Organizes and plans a systematic and continuous quality/performance improvement program for the practice of nursing
  • Oversees the collection of data for statistical records
  • Plans and directs the work of CSU Team Leads and clinical staff
  • Provides staff development including orientation, in-service training, workshops, and continuing education for all levels of nursing staff
  • Review’s state, federal, and other regulatory standards information to direct the quality improvement activities and achieve compliance
  • Post, interview, hire and on-board staff
  • Supervise staff and document supervision
  • Provide supervision for clinical licensure and oversees clinical interns and required supervision
  • Address issues with subordinate staff and document progressive discipline
  • Ensure that incident reports and infection control reports are completed within 24 hours of incident occurring and follow-up
  • Weekly chart audits and analysis of findings
  • Training/Retraining of staff based on findings of chart audits
  • Communicates needs, issues, concerns, and compliments with the BHCC Director as needed but minimum of weekly
  • Participate in Medical Practices, Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Prescriber, CQI and Corporate Compliance meetings as scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned by BHCC Director

Sample Technical Competencies:

  • Knowledge of the administration and organization of Behavioral Health services
  • Knowledge of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities CSU Rules and Regulations, Policies, Procedures and Provider Manual content
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing the practice of Behavioral Health and the provision of health care to clients
  • Skill to plan, organize, manage, and evaluate the delivery of a variety of services
  • Ability to interpret policy to personnel
  • Ability to plan and direct the work of staff, assure adequate level of care, and develop staffing patterns

Entry Qualifications:
A current Georgia license to practice as a licensed clinician (LCSW, LMFT or LPC) AND three years of management experience. Should have a Certified Professional Counselor Certification (CPCS), if applicable to licensure.
