Job Summary 

The Stabilities Studies Laboratory Technician is an entry level job responsible for assisting the Stability Studies Manager by maintaining and preparing the stability studies samples and by performing routine lab tests and aiding laboratory personnel in preparing samples for assays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs routine laboratory tests on stability study samples.
  • Prepares (extracts) and delivers samples to Laboratory Associates and Analysts for further instrumental analyses.
  • Maintains the inventory of the stability studies samples and ensures that samples are pulled on schedule.
  • Analyzes samples to evaluate changes over the course of the stability study.
  • Ensures that the documentation of work in personal notebooks, general laboratory logbooks, and/or electronic document software is compliant with cGMP regulations.
  • Maintains general laboratory cleanliness, including storage, and disposal of broken or chipped glassware and disposal of waste.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED is required. A bachelor’s degree in a scientific field is preferred but not required. Previous experience in a laboratory setting is preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, test methods, and standard operating procedures.
  • Skilled in common laboratory practices such as pipetting, weighing, and diluting samples.
  • Ability to write experimental details in a technical manner and to summarize results.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP documentation requirements.

The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to be able to view a computer screen.
  • The employee in this position primarily works in a laboratory environment. They will occasionally be exposed to hazardous chemicals, solvents, and microorganisms. Hazards include flammable and corrosive solvents as well as potentially toxic reagents and solvents. Additionally, the microbiology laboratory may contain biosafety level 2 (BSL2) microorganism strains. The employee will be required to use extraction equipment which generates elevated levels of noise. The employee may infrequently pass through the manufacturing plant, where they would be exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
  • This is a full-time onsite position.
