Description

GAI Consultants is seeking a Senior Project Engineer with 8 years of experience in developing roadway design projects for PennDOT. This position will have a flexible hybrid schedule working in our Cranberry, PA office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervising entry-level EITs and CAD staff.
  • Leading the design and technical direction for roadway transportation projects.
  • Deliverables may include Reports, Contract Drawings, Special Provisions, Specifications, Permits, Quantities, and Opinions of Probable Cost.
  • Leading the coordination with interfacing disciplines.
  • Maintaining proficiency with engineering software.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the budget, schedule, and quality of Tasks and being up to speed on regulation changes and agency protocols and requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (B.S.) degree from an accredited college in Civil Engineering (M.S. degree a plus)
  • Professional Engineering license required (or have the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire) PA Required, OH, or WV a Plus).
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and work independently as needed on project-specific tasks.
  • Ability to be efficient in planning and organizing workload.
  • Dedicated commitment to performing quality work with a positive attitude and work ethic.
  • Knowledge of MicroStation and its use to generate roadway drawings.

  • Ability to hike moderate distances through unimproved terrain, walk across uneven surfaces, etc.
  • Ability to hear and visualize potential hazards during fieldwork or site visit situations.
  • The successful candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment drug screening.
