Team or Function Overview The right candidate will be invited to join the Stockton Plant team and continue a legacy of over 40 years of successful operations in this location. We operate two production lines that produce rolled roofing products for both commercial and residential applications. Summary The Process Engineer III is responsible for supporting the needs of the operating plants and executing projects related to new product development, cost savings, and improvements in plant capacity and yield. The yield projects include improvement in yield of existing processes and yield projects related to the development of byproducts. Additionally this position is responsible for conducting plant audits and is involved in the annual review and development of Commodity Code Sheets for each plant. The Process Engineer III also supports training and familiarization of new engineers to SGI’s operating plants, processes and procedures. Essential Duties Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Execute duties in an efficient and safe manner Execute projects related to cost savings Calculate cost savings potential Execute projects related to plant capacity improvement Execute projects related to yield improvement Work with R&D on new product development Direct testing at vendor locations Define equipment and process specifications for new products Define scope and process flow related to new products Input and review of engineering design plans Provide start up assistance to new processes or changes to processes Conduct annual Coloring Plant audits including improvement recommendations and reporting Provide support to plants on technical issues and/or questions Maintenance of Process Flow Diagrams Perform other duties as assigned Physical Demands Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Frequent sitting, walking, and standing; occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone Required to sit, stand, walk and use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects, tools, and product samples Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs. Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment and work outdoors in temperature extremes Under This Roof, We Require Bachelor’s degree in Engineering 5 years process engineering experience, preferably mineral processing Must have the ability to lead a team Works well in difficult and time pressure situations Material handling (entry to intermediate knowledge) Engineering / equipment design (entry to intermediate knowledge) Regulations of safe handling and registration of materials (entry knowledge) Under This Roof, We Also Value Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (such as Outlook and Excel)is preferred Proficiency in G-Suite is a plus AutoCAD preferred, not required Familiarity with standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures is helpful Analytical and problem solving How We Protect What Matters Most We offer a wide range of health insurance options that include medical, dental, and vision for you and your family.
