Summary

The Material Handler Associate is ultimately responsible for managing process flow in our Shipping department. This includes safely & properly fulfilling orders for our customers in a timely manner.

Using tools such as pallet jacks, Material Handlers transition pallets of product to our order staging area and ultimately onto the customer truck for shipment to the products’ final destination.

The Shipping Material Handler works in Burgaw, NC and partners with the Logistics team to provide support to the warehouse and our customers.

Pay Rate : $22 - $22.54

Regular Work Schedule :

First Shift : 5 : 00am to 3 : 30pm (Monday through Thursday)

Overtime as required

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Knowledge of GAF products & parts and have an ongoing awareness of availability.

Work as a team to fulfill orders for all customers in a safe and time sensitive manner.

Utilize handheld computers for loading trucks and for tracking progress.

Work in other areas as business needs require.

Maintain a good attitude toward company policies, processes, regulations and procedures.

Teamwork oriented and open-minded, willing to adapt to new techniques and processes.

Flexibility is a must, able to work extended hours and multiple positions on 1st and / or 2nd shift as dictated by business needs

Ability to perform administrative tasks as required

Back-up for Shipping Clerks, Receiving Coordinator, UPS, general shipping, and other duties as required

Physical Demands

Must be able to climb ladders and / or stairs

Frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing

Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery

Physical ability to use a for pulling orders

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds several times throughout the day

Under This Roof, We Require

High School Diploma or equivalent

2 years related experience in manufacturing, distribution, or shipping / receiving roles preferred

Ability to read orders and record information in English

Order picking experience preferred

Ability and willingness to obtain forklift certification
