What part will you play?

● GAF Energy is seeking a Permit Associate to own and drive the permit process.

● This exciting role will report to the Services Manager and will work within a cross-functional team to coordinate with team members and contractors to identify and ensure the timely completion of all permit needs.

● The Permit Associate will be responsible for liaising with various state and local municipalities to ensure that the business is compliant with the local building department requirements to allow for a smooth and timely installation of our solar products.

What will you be doing?

● Performing all duties associated with achieving necessary permitting for the installation of our Timberline Solar shingle system.

● Communicating with local jurisdictions to verify and track all permitting requirements, including design specifications, permit lead times, points of contact, and any special requirements prior to the launch of a new project.

● Ensuring the proper submission of permit packets to local municipalities in a timely manner and acquiring permits as soon as available.

● Communicating with managers and the project coordination team to ensure they are aware of process changes or issues that arise.

● Working with the design team to ensure that the business is compliant with permit drawing requirements within the jurisdiction.

● Tracking all projects in the permit process and proactively checking in with involved departments on old cases to ensure all jobs move through the process as quickly as possible.

● Proactively tracking and documenting any changes to projects in the permit phase and report to the team as needed.

● Acting as the point of contact for answering any outstanding questions regarding our Timberline Solar product, which includes representing the company for any in-person meetings with local government officials.

● Providing customer-facing communications, including status updates.

● Actively building out and updating an internal database to capture all regulations and specifications for solar installation in all municipalities in your region.

● Managing and resolving construction inspection and permit closeout specifications.

What do we require from you?

● 1-2 years of permit coordination experience working with multiple municipalities, highly preferred.

● Prior experience working in the Solar/ Renewable Energy industry is a plus.

● Ability to prioritize permit submittals based on agency review/ lead times, and customer schedules.

● Proven experience working with cross-functional teams, especially high-performing sales organizations.

● Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external functional teams verbally, in writing, and via presentations.

●Strong time management, coordination, and planning skills with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines.

● High energy with a high sense of urgency and strong problem-solving skills.

● Comfortable working as a team player in a start-up environment where no job is too small

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
