The Phlebotomist is responsible the collection and initial processing of laboratory specimens. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: training, development, evaluation, and orientating new phlebotomists; maintaining adequate inventory of supplies; performance of waived testing (accuchecks).
Education required: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience required: Experience as a phlebotomist or in direct patient care for 6 months or longer or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program
Licenses/Certificates required: None but additional wage incentive is provided for nationally recognized certification in phlebotomy, PBT(ASCP), CPT(NPA), CPT(ASPT), or equivalent
