This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy and is responsible for developing and maintaining the clinical pharmacy functions of the medical center and providing inpatient care activities. Primary responsibilities include data collection, data monitoring, and evaluating the medication management functions of the facility. Responsibilities also include managing corporate initiatives, Joint Commission requirements, maintaining clincal and operational procedures and policies, staff education and competencies, overseeing clinical pharmacy activities, quality improvement, medication safety, evidenced based medicine, reporting oversight, and supervision of pharmacy operations as assigned.
Education required : Pharm.D and 3 years hospital pharmacy experience to include clinical patient care activity
Experience Preferred: Post-graduate residency or a National Board Certification. Experience in the following: critical care work practice, regulatory compliance, medication use evaluations, automated dispensing system management, supervisor experience, presentation of data/MUE's, proficient and efficient use of business applications (excel, powerpoint, etc)
Licenses/Certificates required: Alabama State Board of Pharmacy License, State of Alabama Controlled Substance permit to include the Parenteral Certificate
