G.R. VanValen & Son Excavating and Drainage is Hiring a Construction Laborer Near Ithaca, NY

About G.R. VanValen & Son Excavating and Drainage :

We do a variety of different jobs throughout the year which include the following:

  • Driveway Installation
  • Lot Clearing
  • Debris Removal
  • Topsoil Stripping
  • Drainage Tile and Stone
  • Basement Back fill
  • Land Clearing
  • Hydro seeding and Lawn Installations
  • Septic and Sewer Installations
  • Residential and commercial water service installation
  • Asphalt paving; driveway and parking lots
  • Foundation excavations
  • Sand, Stone, and topsoil deliveries
  • General backhoe, bulldozer, excavator, excavation work

Job Responsibilities:
Must have some experience in the construction field and be able to do various tasks. The majority of the time we will be doing dirt work where you will be using a laser rod, shoveling or raking in trenches, using a jumping jack or plate tamp, or helping to load or unload equipment onto the job sites. We will also be doing jobs such as septic systems, driveways, ponds, hydro seeding, mulching, retaining walls and drainage around houses.

Qualifications:
You will be operating excavation and loading machines equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets that dig sand, gravel, earth, or similar materials. In addition we might be operating machines such as bulldozers, trench excavators, road graders, skid loaders, hydro seeders, and more. Sometimes, we may be driving industrial trucks or tractors equipped with forklifts or booms for lifting materials. On construction sites we will also be operating and maintaining air compressors, pumps, and other power equipment that is necessary for the job.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
