Duties / Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required.
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
- Utilize construction estimating software such as CMD and PlanHub to create comprehensive estimates.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals.
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and identify areas for cost control
- Prepare and submit formal bid propsals to clients
- Assist in the development of project schedules and timelines
- Update CRM (Salesforce) throughout the project stages
- Establish timelines and estimating goals for effective an timely submittals
Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices
- Prepare complete quantity takeoffs, ensuring all items incorporated in the assigned scopes
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost estimation
- Ability to read and interpret construction plants, specifications and contracts
- Strong negotiatio skills to secure favorable pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
- Familiarity with construction estimating software such as Planhub and Insight
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in estimating costs
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with project teams, clients and subcontractors
