Lease Operator

G Force is currently seeking to add a full-time Lease Operator in the South Texas region. The general tasking will be monitoring and reporting on production and other pertinent well information. As well, provide maintenance on production equipment. The position applies basic and some advanced skills to perform routine and complex operations using tools and equipment appropriate for the energy industry. Applies a general understanding of the technical concepts, practices, and procedures, and has a general knowledge of industry standards and government regulations related to the oil and gas industry.

POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Lease Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a specified route which will consist of oil and gas wells and well as salt water disposals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Gauge production on assigned wells and record gauge readings, downtime, and other pertinent well information into the production system.
  • Perform lease maintenance such as minor surface pump and production equipment repairs and adjustments; trim weeds, clean up trash, etc.; grease pumping units, service lease equipment, etc.
  • Note problems and/or recommend a course of action to the supervisor to minimize costs and maximize production.
  • Assist in witnessing meter calibrations: monitor rates and pressures on injection and disposal wells: monitor chemical use: test safety systems daily to maximize production.
  • Assist with pump and compressor maintenance such as oil changes, obtaining oil samples for analysis, test, and repairs.
  • Attend and participate in daily production meetings, monthly safety meetings, and quarterly well reviews.
  • Utilize SCADA to monitor and evaluate well performance and facility status, respond to SCADA alarms if required.
  • Perform work in a manner that ensures the secure and environmentally safe operation of all wells, equipment, and lease for which the pumper is responsible.
  • Conduct other task as required by the supervisor which are unique to the assigned geographic area.
  • Must be self-motivated, have strong ethics, ability to work with minimum supervision, have reliable attendance, and demonstrate flexible cooperative behavior in the workplace.
  • Must have experience using computers and inputting data, use of MS Word and MS Excel is a plus.
  • Must have an interest in gaining knowledge of engineering principles and an understanding of subsurface and surface equipment and operations.
  • Must be able to perform simple mathematic calculations, have a good mechanical aptitude, good writing skills, and good safety and driving record.
  • Must be dependable and have the ability to work overtime.

POSITIONREQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
  • 2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Technical certification or equivalent training in a mechanical environment or energy related field is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.
  • Knowledge of the operation, control, and general design of various kinds of systems typically present in a processing or treating plant is required.
  • The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions is required.
  • Basic computer skills such as: opening, creating, and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets is required.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
  • The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business like and professional manner is required.
  • Takes initiative and is proactive in addressing issues. Quickly and efficiently completes tasks.
  • The ability to demonstrate conscientiousness, dependability and commitment to the role, team, and company.
  • Works indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment.
  • Works in temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment.
  • Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools.
  • Climbs and works at various heights and may work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched, or kneeling position.
  • Routinely reacts to visual, aural, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
  • May work in confined spaces (i.e., tanks, between compressors, vessels).
  • Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., apply up to 100-foot pounds of torque.
  • Must have ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads.
