This position is located onsite at the customer’s campus in Normal IL. The Transportation Operations specialist will work closely with the Supervisor to effectively create, plan, and dispatch freight requests in accordance with customer expectations, while maintaining efficient utilization of resources. This role will interact with various customer counterparts to execute requests and solve problems within the scope of our service offering. Serves as a main point of contact for drivers and customers for operational issues that arise. Proactively monitors operational performance to ensure shipments are scheduled and executed as planned.

• Schedule: 3rd shift; 10 PM - 6:30 AM
• Work week: Monday - Friday
• Pay: $19.00/ hour

Primary Job Duties:

• Monitors driver execution and productivity
• Ensures system data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of updates
• Creates plans and pre-assigns loads to drivers based on load schedule data, and load priority.
• Troubleshoots grief
• Resolves all driver inquiries in a timely manner
• Keeps driver idle time to a minimum
• Ensures drivers are recording accurate status updates
• Reports all drivers that not in compliance with company standard processes
• Works reports as assigned to meet departmental goals
• Communicates with customer via phone and email

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year or more related experience and/or training preferred.
• One to three years in Transportation or Logistics is preferred.
• Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
