G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Senior Estimator to join its team in Houston, TX.

Summary

The Sr. Estimator performs all the essential functions of preconstruction cost estimating including material quantity survey, equipment pricing, forecasting, constructability review, value engineering, site assessments, life-cycle costing, scheduling and presentation of deliverables and change order analysis. 

Responsibilities

• Must be able to perform estimates at conceptual/schematic design to bid documents .
• Research subcontractors, suppliers and new or improved construction materials to ensure estimates are prepared with the most competitive products and pricing available in the marketplace documenting and analyzing results for use in future projects.
• Prepare general conditions information based on historic data and forecasting of project requirements and help maintaining company historical data base.
• The candidate will consistently work to establish and grow relationships with the fellow estimators and company clients in order to grow and maintain successful business operations and assist the Chief Estimator with the development of fee proposals, represent the firm in project meetings, train and supervise Jr. Estimators and ensure department goals are met.

Qualifications

Education:

• Undergraduate Degree, College degree in Business Management, Building Science, Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering; other Business-related or industry related field may be
• considered.

Experience:

• Must have a current Texas Driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
• 10 years experience as construction estimator in Non-residential, Commercial Construction.
• Computer skills:
• MS Office basic, MS Windows and On-Screen take-off software.
• Strong and effective communication skills (written and oral).
• Experience with business and technical writing.
• Strong organizational skills, and a CAN-DO attitude.
• Experience in construction terminology, practices, methods, techniques, sequences, material, equipment, specifications, scheduling and estimating.
• Experience in industry related software programs and databases.
• Certifications:
• Estimating certification is a must. CPE, ASPE, AACE and/or ICEAA.
