A growing, Houston-based professional services firm, G&A Partners is currently seeking a Safety Consultant to join its team at the G&A office located in Houston, TX. 

The safety consultant is responsible for the identification of workplace hazards across a wide range of industries to include construction, manufacturing, and healthcare related operations. Once identified, the safety consultant is required to design and recommend solutions and best practices that remove or mitigate the identified hazard(s) with the goal of reducing or eliminating workplace incidents and accidents.

Safety Consultants must possess a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, ethical and honest, and have a superior ability to build rapport with all levels of the client organization as well as G&A’s internal staff. Safety Consultants must be able to provide technical advice and guidance to organizations on how to handle safety-related problems and make needed changes in a way that motivates and encourages a strong safety culture within our client’s operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs safety inspections/audits to include description of operations.
• Ensures OSHA compliance for safety programs, policies, processes, equipment, and recordkeeping
• Conducts safety training on a variety of topics.
• Recommends processes and product safety features to reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards.
• Performs accident, near-miss, and incident investigations and analysis and prepare written reports.
• Writes detailed reports and recommendations in a timely manner.
• Writes or amends OSHA compliant safety manuals and associated program content.
• Facilitates employee engagement in the safety process across all levels of management and employees.
• Conducts root-cause analysis for the purpose of identifying causal factors and recommends preventive and corrective actions to address identified exposures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental or a related field preferred, or high school diploma with equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Safety Consultant or related position.
• Insurance or PEO experience preferred.
• Currently in possession of some type of formal safety certification(s) (Forklift trainer, OSHA 501/500, CPR Instructor, etc.).
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
