G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Plant Maintenance Mechanic to join its team in Lakewood, NJ.

Our client has a proud history beginning over 80 years ago, well before recycling was as popular as it currently is. Today, our client has grown to become one of the largest independent processors of recyclables in the Northeast, serving a large customer base that includes Municipalities, Counties, and Commercial entities.

The plant maintenance mechanics report to the Maintenance Manager. They are responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, conveyors, industrial controls, switches, relays, and other production equipment. The mechanics will diagnose machinery components and determine if and when adjustments and repairs are required. First and second shifts are typically 10-hour shifts (Monday to Friday) with occasional Saturday’s

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform electrical and mechanical repairs as needed on the plant equipment
• Ensure operation of the mechanical equipment and machinery by performing preventative maintenance
• Perform daily inspection of all equipment to minimize unforeseen breakdowns
• Install wear parts on major industrial equipment such as conveyors, glass breakers, screens, etc.
• Adjusts work priorities as necessary to meet production needs
• Ability to multi-task and work under limited supervision
• Requires a flexible work schedule to support the facility
• Willingness to work overtime on Saturdays and Sundays if needed
• Ability to perform physical requirements such as bending, reaching, stretching, and lifting
• Must be able to work in a noisy environment
• Position requires personal tools
• Acceptable driving record
• Requires good attendance
• Must comply with plant safety practices

Qualifications

• Industrial Mechanical Experience in production style environment
• High School or equivalent
• Programmable Logic Controller Experience
• US Work Authorization
• Fabrication knowledge (MIG / TIG / ARC / OXY ACETYLENE / Brazing, etc.)
• Manual dexterity to evaluate, install and modify equipment
• Will consider recent trade school graduates
