G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its team in Perry, IA.

Summary

The basic function and purpose of the CFO includes but is not limited to managing the strategic vision of all financial aspects of the company. The CFO is responsible for managing company assets and capital, including human capital, to ensure that the current and future needs of the company are met. The CFO monitors revenue and expenses while maintaining customer and employee satisfaction in the company. The CFO will assist with financial reporting and maintenance as required to ensure the stability of the company’s finances.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all activity related to this role is accomplished in an ethical manner.
  • Maintain the financial stability and condition of the company.
  • Maintain adequate cash availability for the company.
  • Maintain cordial customer, vendor, banking, community, and public relations either personally or through key management members.
  • Approve all financial expenditures that exceed the approved Operating Budget limits in consultation with the President.
  • Ensure that all pricing is prepared and submitted within the financial parameters established in the budget. Approving any prices that are outside the established financial parameters in consultation with the President.
  • Oversees and ensures accounts payable statements to submit to the President in a timely manner.
  • Oversees and ensures that all vendor invoices are entered into the system to assure the proper management and use of corporate resources.
  • To control the management direction, culture, and style of the company.
  • To attain or exceed the established revenue goals.
  • To manage the assets of the corporation.
  • To help create and maintain employee morale.
  • Produce analysis on future opportunities, including ROI calculations and forecasting.
  • Develop plans for growth to increase company profits while reducing expenditures.
  • Lead and Motivate a team or department to produce high levels of productivity, engagement, and inspiration.
  • Establish operating priorities, proper standards, operating systems, and procedures for all staff reporting to the position (if any).
  • Works with the VP of Sales on Product Pricing and Advertising and works with the VP of Manufacturing on financial reporting to support improvements to factory floor and production.
  • Provide consultation to the President in reviewing potential improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Keep updated on the events in the industry and marketplace to take advantage of short and long-term opportunities.
  • Make it understood in the company that providing quality products and services are the priority, and that each person in the company must support that priority.
  • Supports the use of the functional organization and enforces its use.
  • Maintains in good order, all records and files assigned to this function and ensures the safekeeping and confidentiality of all company records including computer information.
  • Maintains the working area in a neat, orderly, and hazard free condition.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely entry of data as related to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll.
  • Performs other duties or tasks as may be assigned by the President.

Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage the accounting functions of a profitable Manufacturing company in financial / accounting-related aspects of the business.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, Chart of Accounts, P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow.
  • Solid understanding of business taxes.
  • Solid understanding of standard costing.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, as well as ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Familiarity with industry terminology and concepts and to effectively deal with customers, vendors, and/or employees on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work with computer software packages, such as Global Shop or equivalent, Word, Excel, Outlook, and other basic software.
  • Familiarity with Employee Handbook.
  • Ability to use common sense to carry out written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including telephones, computers, copiers, fax machines, printers, mobile phones, and shredders

Qualifications

  • Requires: Four (4) year Bachelor’s Degree in accounting.
  • Prefers: Four (4) year Master’s Degree in accounting
  • CPA License
  • ISO 9000 Certification preferred
  • Three (3) years of experience as a CFO for a company with a sales volume more than $30 million dollars and experience with standard costing in heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage all data processing needs of the company by establishing reports and keeping current on accounting software knowledge. The skills and knowledge must include PC literacy, Accounting Software such as Global Shop or equivalent, and Microsoft software (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Office365).
  • Accounting knowledge will include expertise in Standard Cost Accounting, as well as overall responsibility for Cash Management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting
