This position offers the opportunity to travel to our 9 facilities in the St. Louis area, ensuring that our forklifts are well-maintained and operational.

Job Summary: As a Forklift Maintenance Technician at FW Logistics, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of forklifts across multiple facilities in the St. Louis area. Your primary focus will be on conducting preventive maintenance (PM) on forklifts, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring that all equipment is in safe and efficient working condition.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preventive Maintenance (PM): Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections on forklifts to ensure optimal performance and safety.
2. Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with forklifts, including engine, transmission, and braking systems.
3. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, parts used, and inspection reports.
4. Parts Management: Monitor inventory of spare parts and coordinate with the procurement team to ensure an adequate supply of replacement parts and components.
5. Safety Compliance: Ensure that all forklifts meet safety and regulatory requirements, performing safety checks and addressing any safety concerns promptly.
6. Training: Train operators and staff on safe forklift operation and basic maintenance practices.
7. Emergency Repairs: Respond to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly.
8. Facility Support: Assist with other maintenance tasks and facility upkeep as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in forklift maintenance preferred.
• Proven experience as a forklift maintenance technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of forklift systems, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical components.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to multiple facilities in the St. Louis area.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
• Prior experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment is a plus.
