Fuyao Automotive North America Incorporated (FANA) is in the general warehousing and glass manufacturing industry in Plymouth MI. We provide automotive glass for the North America market and currently have glass manufacturing relationships with some of the top automotive manufacturers in North America including GM, Honda, Chrysler, Kia, BMW and Hyundai. We operate several production lines for a variety of vehicle models from each of these automotive manufacturers.

Shipping Supervisor

Summary/Objective The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of logistics including shipping, carrier management. Supplier releasing, packaging, finished goods warehouse, inventory storage and control, and service.

 Essential Functions

1. Responsible for all matters related to customers and broker companies’ communication, (i.e., customer audit, reconciliation, monitoring of delivery performance, improvement and recovery of logistics issues, freight forwarding contacts and communication, etc.)
2. Monitor and manage each customer website, receive customer website information, process, and internally communicate it, etc., to ensure that customers respond to consistent requirements.
3. Responsible for price comparison/selection/contract signing of transportation companies.
4. Responsible for on-time customer delivery (including samples, service parts, etc.), pick-up, dispatch of delivery vehicles and expedited transport control, analysis, improvement, and reporting. 
5. Responsible for assessment of new forklift/Terminal facilities, daily use supervision, inspection of forklift and maintenance management, etc.
6. Responsible for the recording, reporting, analysis, and improvement of the expedite shipment due to transportation method change. 
7. Responsible for the planning, management, and control of the finished goods warehouse (incl. empty rack area), including safety, storage environment, labels, quality status.
8. Responsible for rack returns management.
9. Responsible for daily logistics safety work (including training/inspection/accident investigation, analysis, etc.).

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities and serves as a coach and mentor for all other positions in the department.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel 

The position is expected to travel occasionally.

Required Education and Experience

1. A bachelor’s degree and three to five years’ logistics management experience, or a master’s degree in supply chain management and two years’ experience in the logistics management, or seven years of experience in the logistics management, or any similar combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. 8 to 10 years’ Materials / Logistics Management experience.
