FutureFuel Chemical Company is Hiring an Industrial Painter Near Batesville, AR

FutureFuel Chemical Company is looking for a Painter to join our P&I team. Painters work under the general supervision of the P&I Team Manager and are responsible for safely preparing surfaces and applying paint, stain, and coatings to a wide variety of surfaces, including walls, structures, interior and exterior surfaces, piping, and equipment. Work is conducted at varying heights and may require work on scaffolds or ladders. Inside and outside work is required.

Must have successfully completed the FFCC pre-employment requirements. Must have experience with general painting and coating techniques and procedures. Job requires analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems. Must have the ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job and select the appropriate types and colors of paints and coatings. Clean-up of the work area and the job conducted must be completed in a timely and efficient manner. Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Must be strong in initiative, self-directed and committed to follow-through.

JOB DUTIES

* 1. Reads work instructions, blueprints, and specifications to determine job requirements. (SD, ST, WK)

* 2. Calculates the amounts of required materials and estimated costs.

* 3. Obtains or erects the appropriate positioning and staging surfaces to safely access the item/surface being worked on. (SD, WK, CL, CY, LT, PP)

* 4. Moves furniture and equipment as necessary to obtain access to areas being painted. (SD, ST, WK, CL, CY, LT, PP)

* 5. Removes fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and switch covers prior to painting. (SD, ST, WK, CL, CY, LT, PP)

* 6. Prepares surfaces for painting by brushing, scraping, cleaning, filling, sanding, or pressure washing. (SD, ST, WK, CL, CR, CY, LT, PP)

* 7. Selects the appropriate painting and coatings based on application, physical conditions, color, and usage needs

* 8. Covers surfaces with drop cloths or tape to protect surfaces during painting. (SD, WK, CL, CR, CY, LT, PP)

* 9. Applies primer, paint, and sealers to cover surfaces as necessary using brushes, rollers, and sprayers. (SD, ST, WK, CL, CR, CY, LT, PP)

* 10. Cleans up the work area and equipment including brushes, roller, and sprayers. (SD, WK, CY, LT, PP)

* 11. Communicates effectively in order to perform essential functions of the job.

* 12. Assists with other tasks within the work group such as Insulation and Scaffold Building. (SD, ST, WK, CL, CR, CY, LT, PP)

* 13. Works inside and outside in varying degrees of weather and temperature conditions.

* 14. Performs other job duties as assigned as assigned by supervision.

* 15. Completes required safety training as directed.
