Description
This position reports to the Quality Control Manager and is responsible for helping with coordinating all activity for the Quality Control Department.
This position is responsible for strict adherence to FIA company policies, procedures, and performance expectations by managing and coaching staff members, and by leading by example.
· Supports the FIA Company Hoshin and ensure targets are set and met through the year.
· Helps develop an annual departmental expense budget and Monitor to ensure budget is met.
· Help Lead Quality Improvement Activities related to the shop floor to improve overall FIA quality
· Helps oversee Quality of Current Production Models (Floor Inspection, Measurement, Containment, Sorting, Destruct Lab, Change Point Management, Audits of Production, etc.)
· Monitor and help update FIA's quality control rules.
· Support new model launch quality activity (measurement support, special control period, floor preparation items, etc.)
· Support investigations using 5-Why analysis for quality issues that occur. Ensure that countermeasures are implemented and audited to verify countermeasures are effective.
· Uniformly enforce company policy and ensure department follows the rules consistently
· Maintain a training system for Floor Inspection group and new inspectors
· Work with other departments to reduce scrap
· Kaizen inspection processes to remove difficult work and be more efficient
· Monitor Change Point Management System to ensure correct use of system.
· Maintain all red rabbits and audit at a set frequency for damage.
· Monitor, enforce rules, and train as needed for abnormal handling.
· Audit to ensure production follows Standardized Work instructions
· Support QA Audit
· Manage employee relations in coordination with Quality Control Department and Human Resources.
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
· Must have proficient oral and written communication skills.
· Must be willing to take the initiative on new projects.
· Must be able to work the company’s required overtime.
· Must comply with FIA’s Attendance Policy.
· Two years quality experience minimum. Preferably Automotive.
· Three years of minimum management or supervisory experience required.
· FIA Management experience preferred.
· Familiarity with Toyota Production System (TPS)
· Strong leadership and communication skills
