Fusion Optix is Hiring a Quality Technician - LED Lighting Products Near Woburn, MA

Position Overview:
Fusion Optix is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our Assembly Group responsible for manufacturing specification grade LED lighting products.
  • As a Quality Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards and specifications.
  • You will be responsible for conducting quality inspections, implementing quality control processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
  • This position requires strong technical knowledge, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining product excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Inspections: Perform thorough inspections of assembled LED lighting products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. Inspections may include visual inspections, functional testing, and measurements using precision tools and equipment.
  • Quality Control Processes: Implement and maintain quality control processes and procedures to ensure consistent product quality. This includes developing and implementing inspection checklists, conducting in-process and final inspections, and documenting inspection results.
  • Non-Conformance Management: Identify and document non-conforming products, components, or processes. Investigate the root cause of non-conformances and work closely with the production team to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing quality metrics, inspection findings, and recommendations for process enhancements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement. Participate in problem-solving initiatives and contribute to the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Training and Documentation: Develop and deliver training programs to educate assembly line operators and other team members on quality standards, inspection techniques, and quality control processes. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection records.
  • Compliance and Audits: Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001). Participate in internal and external quality audits and assist in the implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with the procurement team to evaluate and qualify suppliers based on their quality management systems and capabilities. Conduct supplier audits, assess supplier performance, and work closely with suppliers to address quality issues and improve performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the production of LED lighting products or electronics.
  • Solid understanding of quality control principles, inspection techniques, and statistical process control.
  • Familiarity with relevant quality standards and regulations, such as ISO 9001.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings and recommendations.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma principles and tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
