Fusion Optix is Hiring a Plant Manager / Group Leader (FT) Near Woburn, MA
Plant Manager / Group Leader - LED Lighting Product Manufacturer Exciting opportunity to join our growing and well-funded team, based in Woburn MA, developing and manufacturing next-generation LED lighting products. In this role, you will report directly to the VP, Operations, managing a 20,000 sq.ft. assembly facility housing a multidisciplinary team of assembly line, quality, engineering and operational resources. Your responsibilities will cover all aspects of the assembly lines and production facilities' daily operations, engineering and quality teams. Your primary tasks will be focused on ensuring products shipped from the factory are built to specifications and meet all quality and delivery standards.
Description of Role:
Senior Management position with 3-4 direct functional reports and 10-12 persons in total.
Reporting directly to Vice President, Operations.
Responsible for the day-to-day output of the assembly facility, primarily comprising engineers and technicians.
Meet production schedule and quality targets.
Manage work orders and assignments for the factory and team.
Implement systems and processes for workflow, design files, tech drawings, and documentation.
Direct line management of quality, assembly, and production (DFM) engineering teams.
Oversight in the recruitment, hiring, and training of manufacturing and engineering employees.
Oversight of custom engineering activities and machine shop operations.
Management of delivery, shipping, and receiving resources.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage team to ensure on-time delivery, safety, quality, financial, and operational goals and standards are met.
Oversee the assembly of LED lighting fixtures based on LEAN and Agile manufacturing principles.
Ensure assembly, engineering, and quality functions are working together.
Implement and maintain efficient and accurate inventory management.
Ensure a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with federal and state regulations, through collaboration with environmental, health, and safety staff.
Identify and implement training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills.
Organize departmental management structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations.
Deliver progress and production reports to executive team members as requested.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; Masters's degree is preferred.
At least five years of experience in similar management position is required.
Knowledge of assembly of electro-mechanical assemblies and/or PCB/PCBA experience is a strong plus.
